It is one of the first questions on every nursery list: how many crib sheets do you need? Here is a simple way to work it out for your own home.
A good rule of thumb: three to five crib sheets
Think of it as one on the mattress, one in the laundry and one or two waiting in the drawer. With three to five crib sheets you can change the bed in the middle of the night without wondering what is clean.
What changes the number for you
How you do laundry
Our crib sheets are hand washed and line dried, so a sheet needs some time before it can go back on the mattress. If you wash once or twice a week, a few extra sheets make the rhythm easier.
How many cribs you make up
A second sleep space, for example a mini crib in your own bedroom or a crib at the grandparents' house, needs its own sheets in its own size. We make two sizes: mini crib sheets at 24 x 38 inches and standard crib sheets at 28 x 52 inches.
How much you enjoy changing the look
A crib sheet is the easiest way to refresh a nursery. Many parents keep a few everyday prints and add one for the season, like Christmas crib sheets in December.
How many crib sheets for a newborn?
The same rule of thumb works from the start. Begin with three, see how your days go, and add more when you notice you are running short.
Choosing your crib sheets
Once you know your number, the fun part begins. Browse all crib sheets, or start with our best sellers. Not sure about the fit? Our crib sheet size guide lists both sizes.
